Our Patterns

Inspired by traditional cable motifs, Stone Wool's first collection is our interpretation of detail meeting simplicity. Three accessories and an a-line pullover, all absent of color, highlight our favorite qualities of Stone Wool Cormo.

Cowl: Traveling cables diverge from ribbing edging, create windows of purl stitches. A large circumference and depth make this cowl perfect for harboring harsh winter wind and snow.

Hat: Alternating small and large braid panels meet Gansey and lace inspired motifs in this watchman style hat. This pattern is offered in two versions - one with a folded brim, and one without - satisfying both those who want a quick 1 skein project, or a substantial ear-covering cap. Unisexed sized to fit most average adult heads.

Mitts: Twisted rib cables intersect to create overlapping diamond leaves on these substantial mittens, which fall mid forearm length. Stockinette stitches on the back, thumb, and palm break up the cable motif on the front, requiring only 1 skein of yarn to complete.

Pullover: Flattering a-line shaping and split side hem offer a modern silhouette to a classic sweater. This sweater pattern offers 2 additional cable motifs which can be substituted for the 4 cable twist and staghorn shoulder cables shown in the sample, and additional textured stitch patterns which can be used instead of the center purl ridge. Worked from the top-down, this sweater offers the ease of knitting in the round, and the flattering fit of set in sleeves. The pattern also offers the education for knitters to supplement cable motifs of their choosing by following a few basic gauge rules.
